We found out the pathology results on Friday. They said she has stage 2a. This is by far the best news we could have received!
Stage 1a means that they found cancer in 1 ovary. Stage 1b means they found it in 2 ovaries. Stage 2a means it had spread to the fallopian tubes or to the uterus. (BOTH OF WHICH ARE HAVE BEEN REMOVED.) Stage 2b means it had spread to the bladder or the rectum, (which you can't take out!) Stage 3 meant it had spread to the lymph nodes, and of course Stage 4 meant it had spread to other major organs. So the cancer is GONE! She will still do chemo as prevention. She has her first treatment July 2nd.
I just thank God that she volunteered for MDAnderson's cancer study. That study, that surgery...saved her!!! Because...they found it so early...so early that it hadn't had a chance to spread!
