4 Hours...5 Hours

Yesterday Kynsley slept a solid 4 hours. Then last night she slept almost 5 hours! I'm lovin the extra hours of solid sleep, however, I am worried too! I remember reading...underfed newborns sleep more. Therefore, I'm anxious to see how much she has gained at her next appointment which is Thursday the 3rd.

Here are a few more pictures I've taken.

First Disappointment....Many More to Come

Today I experienced a "first" for me with having 3 kids. Ashlyn got home from school today and came to me fussing saying that she didn't get a cinnamon roll at breakfast and all the other kids did. I asked her why and she started crying saying she didn't have any money. She then went on to show me a stamp on her hand that is supposed to tell me she was out of money on her account. (I explained to her that I didn't know what it meant and that I assumed it was her normal stamps she ALWAYS gets for cleaning up after lunch. She went on to tell me I need to ask about each stamp. She's right...I really should!)
This was heart breaking to hear...because every morning she asks me what the school is offering for breakfast. She is always soooooooo excited when it is cinnamon rolls! She makes sure she is ready to walk out the door by 7:25 do that she can get one! (apparently they have sold out before!). This morning was no exception. I can imagine her standing in line ready to get hers with all her friends and then being told she has to put it back because she doesn't have any money. They gave her 1 piece of toast with a little thing of apple jelly instead !
She says she told me the day before she needed money and I never heard her! I of course apologized and balled as I felt like the crummiest mom ever! She started crying to and said she was sorry she made me cry. And that it was okay because she has had too much sugar the last couple of days! (I tell you, she is such a smart little girl, with such a big heart. And she really does try to please us!)
I hate that she had to experience that because I have been so distracted!
I know there will be many more times that I disappoint them! But I sooooooooo hope they are few and far between as well as minimal in heartbreak!!!!

First Doctors Visit

Yesterday Mom and I took Jadie to Mothers Day Out and the we took Kynsley to see Dr. P. She weighed 6pounds 13 ounces. That means she gained 3 ounces since leaving the hospital. She also measured 21 inches long. He didn't seem too concerned with her weight. I so far have been solely breast-feeding. I'm so glad I haven't had to supplement yet! He did mention that she looked a little jaundice. However he said to just keep feeding her whenever she wants and to call if her color yellows more.
I'm anxious to get her upstairs to take oodles of pictures of her! Only problem is...I'm still pretty much stuck in bed! I'm hopeful to be up and moving more by the end of the weekend!!

The Big Adjustment

Yesterday Johnathan and I brought Kynsley home a little before 2pm. The girls of course screamed in excitement when we walked in. Of course John, my mom, and I all responded with...."Shhhhhhhhhhhh!"
It was a day full of "Shhhhhhhhh's". The girls made Kynsley a little mobile. It was extremely cute and thoughtful!!! However Ashlyn wanted to stand over us while I was trying to nurse Kynsley and hold it for her so she wouldn't be scared and would have something to look at! It was so sweet! However, I found myself getting frustrated at the extra distraction. Then of course I felt guilty for not being able to give Ashlyn the attention she deserves! It's going to be a huge adjustment on the ENTIRE family!

Homeward Bound

Pictures of our Princess in the hospital!

Check out that LONG big toe!!!

She is so sweet!!!
So incredibly tiny! Smallest Baby I've had!!!
Isn't that a cute little squished face!
It's 4:37 in the morning! One of many nighttime awakenings to come! I'm laying in the hospital bed waiting for them to bring me Kynsley from the nursery. Last night here was pretty rough from a breast feeding stand point. I attempted to feed her for almost three hours straight. My milk has not come in and she obviously is hungry! We could even hear her little tummy growling! The nurses here have been so good and supportive and tell me to just keep trying. They are assessing her weight right now to see if I will have to supplement her. (Something I had to do with both Ashlyn and Jadie but was hoping not to have to with this one.). As well as her weight they are going to be doing her newborn screening. (testing her hearing, her blood levels, and retake her vitals.). I am hopeful that we won't be sent home with the lights since her color has been so good and she isn't showing signs of being jaundice. We are going to be making a newborn doctor appointment for Tuesday or Wednesday (assuming her newborn screen is clear if it shows something it will be scheduled for Monday...or Kynsley won't be permitted to leave with me.). I am so excited about going home to my own bed, being able to take a real bath in a normal size tub and of course get started on establishing a routine for our now family of five!
I have absolutely loved watching Johnathan with Kynsley...he is absolutely smitten with her! I forgot how good he is with newborns! Her birth has brought back so many memories of Ashlyn and Jadyn at this age...I'm just tearing up thinking about it! I'm trulyblessed to have such an amazing man in my life...and now three gorgeous healthy girls...what else could a mother, wife ask for!

Here is Johnathan adjusting the car seat to fit Kynsley.

Riding in the car, headed towards home for the first time!

Kynsley Michelle Weatherly

Johnathan and I arrived at the hospital at 6:30 am. My Mom and Dad got Ashlyn ready for school, and then waited until 10am to take Jadie to Courtni's house for the day. They started the pitocin at 8:00. (The nurse said I was already having contractions! I was almost a 3 and 70% effaced the first time she checked me.) Beaumont sure is a small world, as we found out our nurse is actually our neighbor. We can see her backyard from ours! At about 8:30, Dr. P. came in a broke my water! The contractions immediately started to get quite uncomfortable. By this time, I remember my mom and dad arriving so it had to be sometime after 10. Shortly after the anesthesiologist arrived to give me the epidural!!! I love those guys!!! He had to try a couple of different times to get the placement right. After was all said and done...I could still feel the contractions higher on my belly, but nothing low. The nurse could tell that I was quite uncomfortable still so she called him back and he increased the dose as well as giving me a "Boost". About 10 minutes later, I felt like I was going to pass out. She immediately paged the doctor who came in and stayed with me until I returned to normal. That boost...made me not feel ANYTHING!!! It was like I had two dead legs attached to my body. It was quite weird to say the least! Finally....Kynsley made her entrance into our family at 1:26pm. She weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long. Delivery was much easier than with Ashlyn or Jadyn. I managed to push her out in one really long push! (Took me two breaths but just one contraction!)
My parents as well as Johns parents and sister were able to meet her today. She is quite alert and is feeding well. She has super long fingers and toes that spread out like mine! So I'm sure she will have the ability to pick things up with them just like me! Her hair is so dark it's looks black. I remember the girls having dark hair but not this dark. Since it was a quick delivery she has a perfectly round head!!! She already loves to be held and fusses if you put her down!!! We are truly blessed to have been another part of Gods most awesome miracles!!!

Here is Kynsley minutes after birth. They haven't even weighed her yet!
Here the nurse is stamping her feet! Still no weight!
7 Pounds and 3 Ounces!!!
Here is my first time to get to hold her after she was all cleaned up!

The nurses were prepping to give Kynsley her first bath.
Announcing her arrival on Facebook! Gotta Love Technology!!!
Eye Ointment!
Let the scrubbing begin!
Her first Shampoo!
Ashlyn seeing Kynsley for the first time! Kynsley had to stay under the warmer for a while when they first arrived to make sure she could hold her own body temperature.
Jadie fell asleep in the car on the way to the hospital. My Dad carried her from the car into our room. She woke up to me in the hospital bed, still hooked up to the IV as well as Kynsley being taken care of by the nurses in the warming bed. Jadie was quite unsure of what all was going on. She even refused to give me a hug or to look at Kynsley. Eventually she warmed up though...and was singing, and dancing for everyone in the room!
6 Hours after delivery and I'm still NUMB!!!! Completely NUMB! I didn't get feeling back until almost 9pm.
Kynsley passed her Temp Test so everyone had an opportunity to hold her!
Grandma and Grandpa W. and Jennifer came to the hospital that evening. The girls were super excited to see them and immediately began showing off! Here are some pictures of them with Kynsley.

I am really hoping I got some pictures of my parents holding Kynsley...I'm gonna feel horrible if I didn't get any!!!!
