Stefany comes to visit!
It was so nice to have Stefany come with Carey and Richard Glyn. I was shocked at how much Richard Glyn has grown! My goodness, they grow up so fast! We started off by going to the park in hopes to let the girls play in the water sprinklers, but they were turned off. So we stayed for a little bit and let them play on the equipment. We then came home and changed and headed to Cheddars for lunch. Courtni and her daughter Maddie got to meet us there too! It was a nice visit! I sure am glad we got to see them, and Ashlyn got to play with her best friend!

3 out of 4 admitted into the Hospital!
Jadyn arrived Tuesday May 1st. She weighed 8 pounds and 10 ounces, measuring 21 inches long.
Her birth was somewhat of a scary thing as the doctors monitored Jadyn's vitals closely.
I started having contractions at 8:30 am and my mom dropped me off at the hospital while she took Ashlyn to school. By the time my mom got back to me, my contractions were quite painful and coming every 2-3 minutes apart. Johnathan arrived about 20 minutes later and my cnotractions were speeding up to 1-2 minutes. Unfortunately the hospital wasn't prepared for so many deliveries. So they were short on nurses. The hospital staff was running around trying to find me a room (I was still stuck behind a curtain in a triage room)
Finally they moved me into a room and gave me the epidural. Prior to this Jadyn's heart beat was fairly low. (Nothing alarming, but when they gave me the epidural, it dropped even lower). So the doctors stayed just staring at the monitors. (Which of course made me super nervous.) The doctor soon after broke my water...but...nothing came out! So this concerned them even more. They called in a NICU nurse for delivery. They delivered me shortly after that. It was such a fast process (Dr. was even pushing on my stomach to get her out) that Jadyn came out with a perfect round head!
Fortunately her vitals were all normal and she is healthy as can be!
Ashlyn came to the hospital to meet her little sister later that night. She was all smiles with not alot to say (which, if you know her, isn't anything like Ashlyn).
Johnathan stayed with Jadyn and me in the hospital that night while my mom went home to take care of Ashlyn. She woke up the next morning and took Ashlyn to school. Then my mom came to the hospital to relieve Johnathan. While my mom was there, I got a phone call from school saying that Ashlyn had thrown up. So my mom left to go get her and take her home. To make a long story short, 5 hours later they admitted Ashlyn into the hospital. The put her in the isolation wing, and restricted Johnathan and I from visiting the other daughter. I got special permission to go see Ashlyn (but I couldn't touch her, just wave and let her know that I was there!) I had to be dressed in sterile gowns and had to take a shower immediately upon returning to my room. It was heart breaking to see Ashlyn there. She had no color to her and she was unresponsive. Johnathan stayed the night with her, while my mom slept in my room with me.
The next morning they discharged Jadyn and I at 11:00am, and by nightfall they had discharged Ashlyn. The only instructions were to keep Ashlyn separated from Jadyn and me. (This would be a huge challenge!)
So Johnathan decided to take Ashlyn to his parents for the weekend. However, when it came time for them to go, Johnathan found himself sick with the same stuff Ashlyn had.
I called my friend Courtni to come and get Ashlyn, while my mom stayed in the house and tended to Jadyn, Johnathan, and me. I can't imagine how we would have managed without her being here!
Fortunately on Saturday Johnathan woke up feeling better, so he decided to go ahead and take her to his parent's house. I'm sure they are having a great time! (But I know Johnathan must be sad that he is missing out on Jadyn's first few days!)

I'm Still Pregnant!
I'm still pregnant! I'm getting pretty uncomfortable! We will let you know as soon as Jadyn arrives. (Maybe this cold front will send me into labor!)

Carey visits Ashlyn in Beaumont
Stefany brought the kids to Beaumont to visit us. We met at Stefany's favorite restaraunt. The girls were so excited to see each other. After enjoying our breakfast, we headed to a local park. They got to run off some energy there before we headed back to our house. The girls played for a bit, before Stefany had to head back to Houston. We sure do miss them!!!

Church has an Easter Egg Hunt for the Kids

Saturday we took Ashlyn to church, where they were having an Easter Party for the church members. Although chilly, she had a good time. They had popcorn and lemonade, cookies for the kids to decorate, and lots of games to play. (3 legged race, wheelbarrow race, sack races, bubbles to play with, toss games, etc.) Again my camera isn't working very well, but I managed to capture a few pictures of her while there.

Ashlyn's First Bowling Experience
We took Ashlyn bowling last Sunday. She had a great time! She loved her yellow ball. (It was 7 lbs). She did fairly well. (Granted I think she only hit the pins 2 times.) However, she insisted on doing it herself. When she was first learning, we would say, "Good Job. You did it. Give me a high five." So after she started doing it by herself....she would say "I did it! Give me a high five." She even started cheering everyone else on. As soon as they would let go of the ball, she would say. "Yeah, you did it! Give me a high five." Needless to say...she had a great time! (Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera!)

Fun Friday in Summerwood
Ashlyn and I went to Summerwood to see Carey and Stefany for Fun Friday. We chose to go to one of the area's parks and feed the ducks. The girls had a great time. Along the trail to the park they saw fish, and were fascinated by some caterpillars. They even got to see a Momma Duck with 7 little Ducklings! Unfortunately, I left the camera in the car, so I didn't get to take any pictures of our adventure. But I did get to take a few in the car on the way to Taco Cabana for Lunch!

Ashlyn's Birthday Party

We celebrated Ashlyn's 3rd Birthday a Few Months Early. We chose not to have to worry about planning for a party with a newborn in our house. Ashlyn wanted to have it at Jump Town. (A place we frequent for Fun Friday with Carey and Stefany) It was a great turn out. After the party we headed to Pappasito's. If you have any pictures from the party, please email me them. I was so busy...I didn't get to take as many as I would have liked. (And my camera was on the wrong setting, so those that I did take, didn't turn out all that Great!)
Here is a Link to Ashlyn's Birthday Party Pictures!!!
Last Trip to Grandma and Grandpa K's Farm Before Little Sister Arrives
Ashlyn had a great time hanging out with her Cousin Ryley and Brenlee. She loves to draw, play with stickers, take care of her babies, and play with playdough while she is there. But...her most favorite thing to do...is to play in Grandma's Sand Box. (A Plastic Storage Container filled with play sand, that has lots of "retired" dishes and spoons!)

Jumpin Jaks for Fun Friday
Ashlyn and I got off to a slow start on Friday, but made it to Houston for Fun Friday. We went to Jumpin Jaks with Stefany, Carey, and Richard Glyn. Danna also popped in to visit while we were there. The girls had a great time. After about an hour we headed to Lunch. We chose the Potatoe Patch off of 1960. The car ride there was a little dramatic, however, once they started throwing the rolls to our table...the girls attitude changed dramatically. It was a really good time!

Ashlyn's Birthday Party

We are planning Ashlyn's Birthday Party a little early this year (March 24th). Since her birthday falls so close to her little sister's arrival, we decided to go ahead and celebrate now.
I am planning on having a "Meet My Sister" Party on June 23rd, so keep your calendars open! This Party will be for everyone, family, friends, etc. It will be an excuse to get together and show off our new addition. It will also be something for Ashlyn to take pride in, and be apart of, since I am letting her choose all the decorations and activities. We look forward to all of our family and friends being there!

Fun Friday at Old McDonald's Farm

Ashlyn and I drove out to Houston to meet Stefany and Carey at Old McDonald's Farm off of 1960. The girls had a great time. They were able to see and interact with all different types of animals: deer, ponies, peacocks, llamas, turkeys, goats, a cow, pigs, bunnies, a kangaroo, and an ostrich. The deer tried twice without success at taking the girls food. They are very sweet natured...but SNEAKY!
There was a little train that took the girls around the property, which they enjoyed. After the ride we took them to some of the play equipment they have there. The girls loved the ball pit!
When the girls were obviously becoming tired, we headed to Taco Cabana. Then we went to Stefany and Carey's new house. Carey was quite proud to show each room off. They have a beautiful home, in a great neighborhood. We still miss them!
