Friday Morning Cost Us Some More Money!

Sounds like Friday morning, one of the framers shot 3 nails through our plumbing, hitting 3 different pipes! I don't really know what this means, but Johnathan says we will have to pay the plumber to come out to repair the damage. He mentioned possibly having to chip out concrete to fix the pipes!!!

Mike and Laura's for the Fourth

Friday afternoon we drove to Kingwood to stay the weekend with our friends Mike and Laura! They have two little ones, Connor (3yrs), and Elizabeth (3 1/2 mos.) We went to a fireworks display in the middle of Kingwood and parked in a nearby parking lot. We set out the lawn chairs and had a nice time visiting until the show began. The kids all enjoyed the evening, especially Jadie! She loved the fireworks. She kept pointing at them and saying..."Looooook"! It was too cute! The show lasted for about thirty minutes.

The next day the girls were able to swim! Later that evening, Phil and Ann (Mike and Laura's good friends) came over with their two little ones and everyone played! The big kids and the little kids played Guitar Hero on the Wii. I have some really cute pictures that will hopefully be up later this evening!

Here are the kids outside looking at deer! Laura and Mike's neighbors feed the deer, so every evening there are two or three out at dusk!

Realtor is Coming

We have our Realtor coming over this evening to sign a listing agreement!

Back at Home!

We are all back at home and back to a normal routine. Ashlyn had a blast at Carey's house. They went to Glitz and Glam of course. Ashlyn got a mini-manicure, her make-up done, (She chose purple eye shadow and glitter blush!), and her hair done. She was very apprehensive about having her hair done, but did it reluctantly because Carey was getting her's done. I have a picture of her with a tear running down her cheek! (Sad Mama!)

After Glitz and Glam we went to Taco Cabana and then headed back to Stefany's house for the afternoon. I left around nap time and went shopping to find Mom a terri-cloth robe! (Those are impossible to find!) I then headed to our friend's Mike and Laura's for the rest of the evening. Shortly after Mike arrived home from work, we had dinner and headed to Rivergrove Park so I could take some pictures of their family. They turned out really cute!

While Jadyn and I were with Mike and Laura, Ashlyn was enjoying herself at Chick-Fil-A with Carey. Chick-Fil-A had an American Girl night. (The girls were allowed to bring their dolls that had hair and they had little salons set up for the girls to do their doll's hair.) It fit right in with the theme Stefany was doing! From what I hear they played for 2 hours and were asking to leave at the end!!!

When they arrived back at Stefany's, I was told that they played Hide and Go Seek in the Dark!!! Ashlyn loves Hide and Seek, so I can only imagine the screams of joy that were happening in the DARK!

On another note:

My mom starts her Chemo treatment today. Please continue to keep her in your prayers!!!

Johnathan is going Fishing--We are Headed to Mom's

Johnathan is leaving today to go fishing with his dad at their camp house. The girls and I will be leaving tomorrow to head to Hockley to stay with my mom and dad for a few nights. While we are in Houston, Ashlyn has an appointment at Glitz and Glam with her Best-Friend Carey. (It is a beauty parlor just for little girls!)

She is scheduled to have her hair, make-up, and nails done! I am hoping to get some cute pictures while I am there.

I did it! I Advertised Myself!

I posted an ad on a local website which sells products and services! It's one thing taking pictures of friends and family. It's another thing taking pictures of strangers! Hopefully, I'll get some business.

Building our Walls

Today, on our way back into town from Sea World, we drove by the property. From a distance it doesn't look like much has happened. However, when we got out of our car and walked onto the slab, each room is marked off with 2x4's nailed to the ground, and the exterior walls are built, they just aren't standing yet. It is pretty neat to watch this process happen.

San Antonio

Johnathan took a couple of days of vacation and we packed up and headed to Sea World. The girls had a great time! Jadyn's favorite parts were the waterpark and the aquarium. Her eyes would light up and she would start chatting away when we would walk into the dark room with the aquarium of fish. She loved it! And of course...that girl loves water!

Ashlyn's favorite part was...everything! The candy store, the penguins, feeding the dolphins, the sea lion show, shamu, the waterslides at the waterpark, and even the hotel room was on the top of her list.

Mom Update

We found out the pathology results on Friday. They said she has stage 2a. This is by far the best news we could have received!

Stage 1a means that they found cancer in 1 ovary. Stage 1b means they found it in 2 ovaries. Stage 2a means it had spread to the fallopian tubes or to the uterus. (BOTH OF WHICH ARE HAVE BEEN REMOVED.) Stage 2b means it had spread to the bladder or the rectum, (which you can't take out!) Stage 3 meant it had spread to the lymph nodes, and of course Stage 4 meant it had spread to other major organs. So the cancer is GONE! She will still do chemo as prevention. She has her first treatment July 2nd.

I just thank God that she volunteered for MDAnderson's cancer study. That study, that surgery...saved her!!! Because...they found it so early...so early that it hadn't had a chance to spread!

They are pouring the Slab today!

Today they are pouring the slab. Johnathan said there was a continuous line of concrete trucks lined up this morning out there. I am hoping to make it out there today before I head back to the hospital to take some pictures to show my mom since she can't access the Internet to see it!

Jadyn is Walking

Jadyn walked across the living room from the edge of the kitchen into the hallway today. She can also now stand up without holding onto anything. Next step RUNNING!

Prayers

As many of you know, my mom has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The doctor said they found it very early and the prognosis is good. She will have to undergo chemo for about 6 months and is still in the hospital recovering from a very extensive surgery. Please keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery!

There is Progress!

We went out to the property and they have framed it, and already buried all the plumbing. We are now waiting on someone to inspect it prior to the pouring of the slab. Johnathan expects the pour to come on Thursday! Right now, we are currently trying to get our home ready to put on the market. Johnathan is in the process of laying mulch in all the flower beds and I have been inside touching up the paint throughout. We have a little staining on the ceiling (from hurricane humberto) in the dining room which will be my biggest project...espeically since I don't like heights and they are tall ceilings in there!

Jadyn's Newest Tricks and Vocabulary

Jadyn has found her belly button. She calls it bubba. She can find and say Eye. We are still working on nose, mouth, and ears. She will shake her head yes to just about any question you ask her. She loves her sister's capri suns and insists on holding them herself. She actually does a good job of not squeezing it all out...however...she does have trouble with the straw always coming out. She enjoys opening and closing doors. She thoroughly enjoys playing with her reflection in the mirror. (Something her big sister Ashlyn still loves to do too!) She enjoys the water...except when it is poured over her head. She still is a great sleeper and takes two naps a day. She is developing quite a personality and has even found a new laugh. (It is as fake as fake can be...but sounds like a true belly laugh...it brings me to laughter just hearing it!)

Jadyn now knows that a cow says moo, a duck says quack, a sheep says ba-ba, a horse says neigh. She says "Baba" for bye-bye, and "Eh" for hi when you hand her a phone. Jadyn calls Ashlyn "AGH!", she says "Meh" for milk, and she says god for dog, and of course is excellent with mama. Actually...grandparents are mama's too! She will say dada if asked...but most of the time, Johnathan is mama still.

When you tell Jadyn that you love her...she will blow you a kiss. It is very sweet. She knows a little sign language and uses what she does know constantly.

These are few of the words she knows in sign: Eat, Milk, More, and Bath. I am working on Juice, Help, and Thank You.

I'll try to remember to update this more often so later we can look back and see how far she has come!

Jadyn took 6 Steps!

Jadyn took 6 steps yesterday, and again today! Yesterday, she did it in an attempt to get to my dad. Today, she did it to get to my mom! The only sad thing about it...was Johnathan wasn't here to see her!!!

Busy...busy....busy

Last Night I Got My Software!!! Thank You Johnathan!!!

We are packing to head to my parent's house for the weekend. My mom and I are hosting a wedding shower for Jared and his fiance Laura. (My "Other Brother") I am hoping the weather is nice...(not raining.) It's Texas so we have to be prepared for the heat! We sent out over 50 invitations to many families, so we have no idea how many we are expecting.

While I am there, I am going to be taking pictures of one of Brody's clients and her two horses. It should be fun! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time!

As for the new house...Johnathan met with our foundation man yesterday to give him the plot plan, the floor plans, etc. He seemed to have the foundation spec sheets, but was missing all the other stuff. So now...we are hoping for a few dry days to get the slab poured.

Once the slab happens...it is a fast process. So Johnathan and I have turned our attention on our current house. We are trying to make a list of things to do to get it ready to put on the market. It will definitely tie our weekends up for a while.

Next week, we are filled with Doctor's appointments, and both Johnathan and I will be in Houston a few days. He has work and I have some photography classes I need to take. From what I hear...they are really good and worth the cost.

I hope this finds all of you doing well!

Beach House with The Boys and The Waterslide

On Saturday morning, we packed up and headed to a neighbors beach house. This place altered my idea of a beach house. It was a HOUSE! It was gorgeous. We stayed for about 10 hours and then headed home with two exhausted girls!

The next morning we woke up and took out the waterslide. We invited our friends over from Orange. (Mike, Laura, Connor, and Baby Elizabeth.) James, Courtni and their two joined us as well. Around 2, The Boys came over. (Of course this tickled Ashlyn because Daniel came too!)
